Springtime is amazing and fall offers beautiful colors as the aspens and cottonwoods get ready for winter. Summers are generally breezy and dry with an average temperature of 89 degrees. This area is a high desert climate. The 2008 population was 57,723 with a crime rate of 19.11.

Carson City History
Carson City is one of the most scenic and historic areas in the country! Explorer Kit Carson and John C. Fremont rode into the Eagle Valley during their 1840 trip to map the west. There was an increase in population during the gold rush between 1848, 1849. In 1859 silver was found in the eastern hills of Carson City. Thousand of miners rode into Carson City and Virginia City. In 1860 the Pony Express had a station in Carson City. In 1861 Carson City became Nevada Territories Capital. Nevada grew in wealth which was needed for the war in the east. Nevada was granted statehood on October 31, 1864.
